CommUnity Platform Policy

Effective Date: October 31, 2024

Welcome to CommUnity, a digital platform hosted by Personify, Inc. (“Personify”), and offered by the Private Directors Association (“PDA”) to enhance your membership experience (the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to abide by Personify’s terms of use, which can be found here: https://personifycorp.com/community-terms-may8-2023/ (the “Terms of Use”).  In addition, your use of the Platform is subject to Personify’s privacy policy, which can be found here: https://personifycorp.com/privacy-policy (the “Privacy Policy”). In the event the terms below conflict with the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use will control. 

1. Acceptance of Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility & Termination of Access

Access to the Platform in connection with your PDA membership is limited to active PDA members in good standing, meaning all membership dues are fully paid and there are no outstanding invoices. PDA reserves the right to revoke, suspend, and/or terminate your access to the Platform if your membership status changes or if you violate the Terms of Use.

3. Use of the Platform

  • Professional Conduct: You agree to maintain a professional, respectful demeanor when interacting with other members within the Platform. Offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Confidentiality: The discussions and materials shared in the Platform are for PDA members only. You agree not to disclose any confidential information shared by other members without their explicit consent.
  • Compliance: You agree to comply with all applicable laws when using the Platform. You agree not to use the Platform to infringe any person’s or entity’s intellectual property rights or any other proprietary or privacy rights.

4. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Post, share, or otherwise transmit any defamatory, harmful, libelous, obscene, threatening, vulgar, profane, or racially, ethically or otherwise objectionable, unlawful or tortious content within the Platform, or to store or transmit any content in violation of third-party privacy rights.
  • Engage in spam, phishing, or any unauthorized solicitation of members.
  • Impersonate another person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any individual or organization.
  • Use automated systems to collect data or interfere with, disable, disrupt, or otherwise interfere with or impair the Platform and any third-party data contained therein.
  • Upload, transmit, or distribute to or through the Platform any code, files, scripts, agents, or programs intended to harm the Platform (including but not limited to viruses, worms, malicious code, time bombs, Trojan horses, or other software).
  • Gain or attempt to grant unauthorized access to the Platform.
  • Promote your personal organization, business, or any organizational affiliations. This includes but is not limited to, any marketing or sales activities. Self-promotion or the promotion of external organizations by members is strictly prohibited.

 

We encourage you to report any content or conduct that you reasonably believe violates these Terms of Use to PDA.

 

5. Privacy

The Privacy Policy outlines how Personify may collect, use, and protect your personal information in connection with your use of the Platform. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for details about the information Personify collects and how they may use it.

 

6. Member Information Visibility
By becoming a member and accessing the Platform, you agree that your profile information (e.g., name, email address, phone number, and chapter affiliation) will be visible to other members to foster communication and networking within the Platform. You understand and acknowledge that this visibility is an integral part of the membership experience.

If you have concerns about the visibility of specific information, you have the right to protect certain information from being shared.
